11029NAT - Course in Firearms and Weapons Safety
(Approved for Firearms Licensing in Queensland)

If you are interested in owning a firearm for hunting, target shooting, primary production or rural employment in Queensland, you are required to complete this prerequisite course, before applying for your firearms licence.

Pagan Firearms conducts regular Firearms and Weapons Safety Courses in Townsville on behalf of Down Under Training & Consulting (RTO 30820), using experienced and knowledgeable Firearms Instructors.

We now offer online training, with the theory assessment conducted in an air-conditioned, relaxed learning environment and practical assessment conducted at the gun range.

Certificates are issued in less than one week, so you can apply for your licence sooner!

Dates and times available:

• 17th January 2026 (8.30am - 3.00pm)
• 31st January 2026 (8.30am - 3.00pm)

Categories offered:
• AB - Rimfire & centrefire rifles plus shotguns
• H - Handguns
• C - Semi auto/ pump action shotguns*
• D - Semi auto centrefire rifles*

* Please note: cats C & D are for employment purposes only (ie. primary producer, feral animal controller, etc)

Combinations of the above categories are also available.

Once you have completed the course, we provide all the information required to facilitate your licence application in a simplified format. We are also available to assist with licence applications if required (fees apply).

Courses are run every fortnight and bookings are essential.
